I'm a very energetic person, inclined to help. I like the though of knowing that I'm someone people can depend on. I'm somewhat of a perfectionist, so with that I will always be sure that someone has all the things they need and then some. Some thing that attracted me to being a caregiver is that I've gone through things w/ my family and w/ my eldest sister who has been ill for the majority of my life but in recent times w/ the love and help of her friends & family she's made an amazing come back in life. I want to give others that motivation and the comfort needed from others to get through the tough times. That's apart of what I enjoy the most about being a caregiver, to be that person that motivational to others & someone that they can comfortably depend on. In each job I've ever had no matter the field I always supersede expectations and I'm always welcome back as well as someone that's an example for other. I think that all comes from wanting to be efficient in what I'm doing.

Hello, My name is Benta Russell. I began my personal-care career with Synod Residential Service, in August 2013. I have always done personal-care work since I was a young girl. Growing up in Kenya, it was my responsibility to care for my family's elderly. Every day I would take care of my grandparents by fetching them water from the river, cooking their meals. This is important to me because it makes the work that much more enjoyable for both the client and myself. My greatest achievement so far was getting my degree from Washtenaw Community College. There were many days and nights when I wanted to throw my textbooks in the garbage and walk away from school, but I didn't do that. I stuck it through to the end and am very proud to have earned my degree.
