I become a CNA because I have a desire to care for others. I have patience and a great deal of compassion for those people needing my assistance. I feel that this is much more than a job. It is a commitment to do my best to make sure that the time I spend with a patient is an uplifting and happy experience for them. I take my time and don't rush the patient. I don't want to make the patient feel like they are not important. I am a mother and at 43 years old, I am also a proud grandmother. I was in charge of the initial intake of inmates: preparing all forms needed for intake physicals, ppd testing, prepared charts for new and returning inmates, continuously keeping them up to date. My job also included inputting each inmate’s medical classifications into our computer system. I prepared a daily list of inmates needing their intake physical, and insured the physician stayed on schedule to perform the physicals in a timely manner. I also accompanied the physicians out to inmate units on sick calls, as well as intake physicals assisting them, as needed. In addition, I was able to process inmate medical request forms, so that each inmate received medical treatment in a timely manner.

I was responsible for the care of America’s veterans. I was also responsible for preparing for patient’s admissions and discharges.
