It all started in 1962 when my grandmother got me a job working at a Convalescent Hospital. I found that I enjoyed making a difference in the life of those that were weak and needy. I worked in hospitals or rest homes for the next 20 years. At the same time I also worked other jobs. In 1994, I had an accident that caused me to loose my job. I feel God wanted me to take care of my parents so He made it possible. My dad had open heart surgery and never got around to being as he once was. I was able to take care of him, and we mended emotional pain we had. He passed, and my mom needed me, so I took care of her until she passed. I needed to work, so decided to take a class but found I had to speak Spanish to work in some doctors office. I found a private job taking care of different ones. I have been working with the elderly for over 20 years. I stay an average of one year with each one and they pass. I am usually with my clients before they get to bad, so we manage to go out and shop, play around, and go to church. When they get to the point they no longer want to go out or cant then we stay at home and wait for the body to decide to stop fighting the process of death. I work for Hospice with all of my clients so far. I am a good companion and I love listening to their stories and telling mine. I sing for my clients and so far they all enjoy hearing me sing.
