I became a Caregiver at the age of 12 and in all reality I believe being a Caregiver is something you're born with. My mother became disabled while I was in Junior High (7th Grade) and from that I had dropped out of High School in order to take care of her. There's a certain kind of satisfaction obtained from caring for others. The saddening factor of the knowledge that you cannot cure them is overruled by the generous amounts of "Thank You's" and I am able to be the caring, selfless, understanding, patient and loving daughter that my mother had raised me to be. Being a Caregiver wasn't a path that I ch ose to venture down to aid my huge heart, but more or less it was a blessing in disguise because I know that there's not many out there that can really do this as a job. Aiding to my mothers help had lead me down the path to learn who I really am as a human being. I have found that caring for others is my calling in life. In my spare time I write. I write about the wonders that flows within my head and I have even self-published a poetry book. I am turning 20 years old and I'm currently working on a novel in my spare time about my mothers condition. I would like to end this with a Thank You, and I hope you have a very blessed day. ... more
