I fell in love with caregiving back in high school when I took an elective class helping students with disabilities. In my early 20's I became a CNA and have always loved helping others every chance I get. I have worked in several different types of caregiver settings but eventually decided to leave the field because I was saddened and frustrated when I felt like my concerns about patient rights were constantly ignored by management. I decided I no longer wanted to work in places where I wasn't able to speak directly to the patient's family and be their voice. I prefer to have a more personal and family-like relationship with patients rather than a business relationship.
