Hello! My name is Vanessa. I'm from NYC and has had over 5 years experience as a caregiver. Currently I am employed at Duke University Health System as a Nursing Assistant. I have dealt with variety of needs such as cancer patients (adults to geriatrics), mental illness such as bipolar, anxiety, schizophrenia (pediatric to geriatrics), total care, and Alzheimer/Dementia. I love being a caregiver because I believe in giving in order to receive at the end regardless of the time period. My high energy usually rubs off of my patients and they get very excited when they see me. My sense of humor and quirks alone makes them feel better. The biggest reward I get as a caregiver is seeing my patients smile. It inspires me and makes me push to continue to do what I love. i am seeking something short term. Going on vacation for the weekend and need someone to stay with mom or dad? I can do that for you. Need a break from the daily workload of caring for your loved ones? Take a nap or go get some fresh air for a couple hours, I will come in and take care of what is needed. I am supportive, helpful, and very involved.
