I have worked in the elderly companionship field for over 11 years. I have been caring for my 73 year old aunt who has Cerebral Palsey. She was very sick and lonely before I arrived. Since caring for her, she is healthy, happy and independently attending a senior center daily. I enjoy the elderly, listening to their life experiences as well as learning from their wisdom. I have worked with a very diverse clientele. I have assisted retired lawyers, judges, Reynold's Aluminum and Philip Morris executives and their family members. I have worked with all types of temperaments and some very difficult clients in particular dementia and alzheimers . I adjusted to their particular situation and we got along. I believe myself to be a well rounded individual. I have traveled the world as an entertainment manager, worked in the finance industry as a trade floor reporter. I have supervised in the construction industry. I am an avid reader. I said all of that to say, with all of my life experiences and interests I have the ability to be a real companion by being able to converse and relate with my clients on their level and talk about the things that interest them. Having this ability is extremely important to the client as it makes them feel alive and engaged verses just feeling like they are just existing and being baby sat. I am honest, very patient and empathetic and motivating. I have the ability to make my client feel that I am there to be a help and a friend.
