I have been a nurse/midwife for the past 22 years in Guyana. I came to the States, saw the need for caregivers for the elderly, and immediately aquired the Home Health Aide certificate, and started working with the elderly. Just assisting them with the activities of daily living, which has become difficult for them to do. For example, taking a bath, getting dressed, preparing meals, cooking, cleaning, laundrying, reminders of medications.Making sure they are comfortable in their homes.When, at the end of the day, you here someone say" l don't know what I would do without you, is an accomplishment for me. I feel the need to help people in anyway I can to better their lives, and when I do, then I know my living shall not be in vain.
