For two years, I worked as a homecare case manager at a large non-profit, where I coordinated homecare services (HHA, CNA, VNA, health insurance issues) for seniors living at home. In that position, I was awarded the New Employee of the Year award, in recognition of exceptional customer service and care. Subsequently, I attended a master's program in Boston where I concentrated on Aging Studies (Gerontology). I am currently a PhD student and would enjoy the opportunity to work part-time as a caregiver. Former colleagues, friends and family would describe me as very friendly, responsible, and organized. I am tri-lingual (fluent in English, Chinese/Chaozhou, Khmer/Cambodian). I have basic conversational skills in Spanish. And I have language familiarity (as in understanding what a person may be trying to say or describe) in Vietnamese, Haitian-Creole, and Arabic. I am familiar with Halal dietary requirements. Last but not least, I come from a large, tight-knit, inter-generational family. I really understand and respect the needs of families who are trying to care for their loved ones while working busy schedules.
