During my college career, I decided to become a Home Care worker because I knew that would be one way to reach out to the older adults in our communities. I realized how appreciated I was for my hard work and integrity, therefore I continued to be a caregiver. Since older adults have been around for many years, their wisdom is beyond impressive and I enjoy learning from them. As a home care worker I get the advantage to learn so much from older adults as I listen to their stories. I am deeply passionate about helping older adults and it is something I love to do. My passion prevails itself as I support and comfort my clients. For an example, what ever goals my clients wishes to achieve by the end of the day or week those goals will be met. These goals are of course related to activities of daily living skills, running errands, or engaging in the community, such as attending social day programs. I also encourage my clients to express their independence, thoughts, and feelings. I am someone any family member can rely on to take care of their parents, grandparents, aunts, or uncles.
