About Taylor

My residents become my family. I care about putting a smile on their faces & bringing positive energy & comfortable while they are going through their ladder stages. I like keeping a relationship with the families b/c it helps me provide better care and a warmer atmosphere to my residents. I like to let my residents know never apologize, accidents happen,& I am here to care for their needs. I wanted to be a care giver b/c it's more than just a job, it's changing lives & being a part of their lives. I enjoy hearing stories & memories. Doing their laundry the way they like it or spend an extra 10 minutes setting the tables b/c she wants to help fold napkins. I like to incorporate old routines into new ones. It's important to tell them they cant go somewhere. For example, if a resident thinks its time for work &tries to walk out, I will walk out with him & walk him around the block & back home. NOT you don't work anymore b/c it will cause him to be upset. Care givers need patience & understanding. We need to understand that they are not always themselves & arguing with them& telling them their wrong only creates confusion & stress. Agreeing, even if it's ridiculous makes them feel good. We are a team. They already feel against the world. It's the small details in care giving that add up to being a friend as well. A personal achievement I am proud of is being told by my executive director that my hard work is seen, and I shine. Residents may forget a few days later, in the moment it makes them feel so special and that is something no one can take away from a care giver.

Named best care giver of my building by my Executive Director because I ensure families their loved one is going to receive love and care as they move toward their ladder days. I am patient with my residents and ensure them their struggles and frustrations are nothing to be ashamed of and should never feel the need to apologize for accidents. I am a persistent hard worker that treats my residents as I would my own family. I stand out because I will continuously put my needs on hold to make sure my resident is happy and comfortable. My duties at my previous job were to wake, dress, and bathe 18+ residents by myself (sometimes with a fellow care giver; 2-3 baths a day) every morning. At 8 o'clock sharp is breakfast. I would pour water and juice and serve food and keep an eye on everybody to make sure they are enjoying their food. I would have my residents bathroom schedules to the T, always knowing when they need to go before they need to ask. After, I would do laundry and play games like noodle tennis and board games to keep them engaged. If it is a nice day I like to sit with individuals in the sun and talk to them about their greatest achievements and favorite memories. Then I would soon prepare for lunch and do the same as breakfast.

'Essentially it is a lesson of love. Because if you can not love, you can not be a caregiver. \\" It's the greatest gift you can give another human being. To give yourself, to give your life for other people. I became a caregiver because i wanted a career that had the potential to make a difference in someones life. I enjoy making someone smile and doing little things to make a persons day better. Being a Caregiver/CNA for 10 years has helped me in so many ways, i have worked in Hospitals, Nursing homes, Private Duty , Hospice care and also with Disabled children. I love what I do. Taking care of people that need my help gives me joy in my heart. I feel it is very important to have someone in you life that truly cares and makes you feel important. A personal achievement I am proud of : Attained \\" Caregiver of the year award \\" by constantly maintaining excellence in my care to residents.
