I believe myself to be a good candidate for your organization for several reasons. 1) I have worked most of my adult life giving care and helping those in need and in end of life situations. 2) I have an ability to get along very well with and relate to those whom I give care to. Personality wise I am calm and patient and very understanding and empathetic to the challenges people face when living through times of need. I understand what it is all about with Alzheimers victims and why they get confused, angry, depressed, regressed and even have outbursts of anger. I know why this happens and typically what is best to do when facing most of these situations. I also have deep concern for people who are in need of care, regardless of how disastrous the disease may or may not be. 3) What attracts me most to being a care giver for individuals at home is that I am directly helping them to keep out of the nursing home, when most want very much to stay at home in their own environment. 4) I am reliable - I am responsible and reliable in not only coming to work, but showing up for it in the first place! I rarely ever call in unless it is an all out unavoidable situation I won't call in, period. I realize the importance of my presence in the home as these people are not able to do the chores which need to be done around their homes, or to cook, or to get help with their personal care. I have 2 dependable vehicles, one being a big 4x4 truck that does quite well in heavy winter weather. For these reasons, you can depend on me to fulfill my responsibilities, and so can the client, and so can the client's family.

I first worked for their United Helpers Cedars Nursing Home and a year later I went to United Helpers Management in the township of Ogdensburg, where I worked for around a year, and then went to E.J. Noble Hospital in Alexandria Bay. E.J. Noble was only a 15 minute drive for me and they were offering substantially higher pay at the time. At E.J. Noble I worked the Nursing Home, also the Skilled Nursing floor and the Emergency Room.

I am currently working at HSNNY as a PCA II Care Giver. I wanted to let my boat repair business go for the most part, as much has changed in that area and I needed to go in a different direction. Since I have always been a care giver, or a helper, of those in need I understandably fell back on that position. I took a job with HSNNY because the opportunities to do one of the things I enjoy most, and one of the things I am most familiar with, along with flexibility on the part of HSNNY was perfect for me. I still work for HSNNY and really had not considered leaving them until I happened across your ads on the net. Your organization seems to be tapped into good resources and the couple of online ads I found which sparked my interest are clients located in Alex Bay and on Wellesley Island. I see you are paying substantially more than what I am making now as well. For these reasons I am interested in applying with your organization. I have all the necessary skills to make me a good candidate, with not only the work history I have shown, but also what I have not shown to this point, that being that I have also taken care of family members, such as my Mother and then later my Father as they were nearing that time of passing away. I have also worked for other various friends and family members, without pay, helping take care of them and getting them through those rough times.
