I have experience, over the years, in caring for a medically involved family. This has given me not only the knowledge, but the unique empathy, working through chronic or critical periods of life. In addition, I have a 15 year career working with mental health & intellectual disabilities. I am strong at assessing communication skills, learning styles, how to respond to a person's physical needs. For me, it's very rewarding to play a supportive role as a person achieves their goals, increase self reliance, learn new skills to replace the old and/or ..... simply be good company as they heal. On a personal note - as you can see, I am a mature adult. My husband and I have grown children, so my time is flexible. I am working on an advanced degree in Psychobiology - which is the reason for my interest in flexible and fluid employment. I thoroughly enjoy life - and hope my optimism plays a positive part in the care-receiver's recovery.
