About Tamara

Hello, My name is Tamara. I am an experienced caregiver. I became a caregiver approximately 9 years ago when I accepted employment with a facility that provides for people with developmental disabilities. I became attached to my responsibilities of giving back and helping those who are less fortunate. I have experienced in working with children & adults with disabilities as well as seniors. There many things that I like about being a caregiver. It's rewarding and I'm also motivated by the difference that I make in some else's life. Currently, I work full time as an auditor with NYS Office for People with Developmental Disabilities. My primary responsibilities include auditing the homes in which people with disabilities reside in, ensuring that their residence is well-maintained as well as ensuring that the providing agency is in compliance with NYS regulations. Prior to working with NYS, I worked with seniors and individuals with developmental disabilities. My job responsibilities included bathing, assisting with dressing, cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping, completing laundry and transporting clients to various medical appointments. I’ve worked with many individuals who had diagnosis of Diabetes, Autism, Alzheimer’s, Schizophrenia as well as Bi-polar disorders.
