I became a caregiver to experience healthcare from a different position/level than I will be at after my education is completed. It has allowed me to learn the benefits of being a caregiver. The benefits to the patient, to the patient's family, to the healthcare system, and to the caregiver themselves. I enjoy making my residents and patients feel better about themselves and about their day. If I can comfort them in a time of need, make them smile, make them feel pretty by helping them choose a nice outfit, taking my time getting them dressed, or if I can motivate someone to get out of bed and eat, I feel accomplished.
