I became a caregiver because i wanted to give back to my community. My dad died at a very young age so i didnt understand what it was like for people to grow old. I love children but to communicate with the elderly became my preferrence. Speaking with them can also be a great learning expirience. I have met war heros and Halocaust survivers, ballet dancers etc. Every one has a story. All of them just as important as the other. I am a great caregiver because i treat my clients as if they were my own parents. I want to see people get treated the same way i would want my parents to be treated. The way i want to be treated, having to trust someone with my well being. I also understand that good care comes with a cautious watchful eye. Not to invade privacy but to maintain a safe and comfortable atmosphere. Clients should never be made to feel ashamed for having an illness they cannot help living with. I recognize even the most difficult of patients deserve to be treated with the same respect someone whom may not be as difficult. This job requires someone who is patient, caring, cautious, and prepared for anything at anytime. I am that person. Not only have i been well trained for my occupation but there are some variables that cant be taught like patience and humane compassion.
