Why did I become a caregiver? Good question! Growing up as a child I always took care of my grandmother, and as a child I remember asking myself what if I could do this for a living. I simply loved the joy my grandmother felt when I took care of her and hence I became a caregiver. I find great joy in being a caregiver. I simply love people, and even more the elderly. Because of the experience I had with my grandmother growing up as a child, I cultivated such a passion and great respect for them, so at anytime of me taking care of them I treat them as I would treat my grandmother! It never fails the joy and warmth that I experience every time I am with a new patient. My personal achievement that I would be proud of would actually be gaining and /or receiving my CNA license. I felt like it was one of the most exciting days of my life. I felt like it was perhaps the beginning of greatness. What better achievement could I have receive then one that could deal with different types of people, and causing a smile to be on their face. Who is Althea? I told that I am a kind, loving, happy, carding individual. I just simply love people. I am currently newly WED and my husband is a pastor, so it is in my heart to just love people.
