Six years of nursing experience; 4 years as a LPN and 2 years as a RN. My clinical experiences specialized in geriatrics, palliative care and cardiac nursing. Throughout my six years of experience, I developed a variety of clinical skills that were applied to effectively and safely provide high standards of patient-centered care. I worked daily with patients that had a variety of chronic diseases that would be admitted to the hospital for acute complications, such as infections, exacerbation of their specific condition or diagnoses of new complaints. Cardiac monitoring was individualized among patients that had an admitting diagnosis of a cardiovascular complication or had a past medical history of cardiac disease. In May 2015, I received my CORE certification, which focused on cardiac rhythm anomalies as well as the management of patients with cardiac disease. My passion was working in the four bed palliative care unit. End of life care involved implementing comfort measures with compassion and therapeutic communication with both the patient and family members. In addition to my clinical experience, I was designated as the evening team leader. My responsibilities included supervision of five to six staff members on the twenty-six bed unit working closely with the shift’s supervisor. I assessed and managed staffing needs as well as delegated admissions to other nursing staff. I was also responsible in handling any matters that occurred on that shift.
