About Setay Indira

Hello! My name is Setay. I consider myself a compassionate, clean and caring woman. What I enjoy the most is my job. I get satisfaction from helping improve the quality of daily activities for my clients. I've been an aide for 12 years and have learned how precious life is. Unfortunately, my parents are no longer with me, but I was able to take care of them. I use the same loving, compassionate approach I did with them to my clients. I've had the honor of taking care of clients who suffered from dementia, MS, diabetes, COPD and Parkinson's disease. Some of the tasks I've completed with clients include running errands (Groceries), medication management, cooked for special diets (kosher, vegetarian, low fat, diabetic, low sodium), light cleaning, interacted with clients' family, develop schedule to enable socialization, accompanied clients for doctor's visits, visited parks and gardens, and assisted in daily exercises. Experience & Education

Senior Female: Fall & Dementia Patient

Feb 2023 - Jul 2023
Home Care
This is my most recent patient suffering from dementia as well as recovering from a fall. This patient was initially in an assisted living facility and later moved to a condo. During this time, I performed activities of daily living including bathing and grooming, dressing, ambulating, feeding, and toileting. Aside from daily living activities, I gave daily reminders for medications, prepared meals, did light housekeeping, kept her family updated on her health, communicated with Hospice, and clarified any concerns of the patient as well as the family. This patient in her final days became nonverbal and I was able to continue her care.

Senior Female: Alzheimer's/Dementia/Fall-risk

Aug 2021 - Nov 2022
Home Care
During my time with this patient, I performed activities of daily living including bathing and grooming, dressing, ambulating, feeding, and toileting. This patient was live-in so during our leisure time we would enjoy going to Catholic mass, garage sales, thrift stores and so much more. I always kept a schedule where there was time set aside for socialization outside the home, relaxation during the warmer times of the day indoors, and of course a peaceful morning and evening ritual. Medications and vitamins were a regular reminder for this patient as well.

Senior Male (COPD); Senior Female (Dementia)

Dec 2019 - Mar 2021
Home Care
This case was unique as both husband and wife were struggling with health concerns. The senior male in his 90s was suffering with COPD and used an oxygen tank daily. The senior female in her 90s was suffering with dementia. Both patients I was able to assist with meal preparations, light housekeeping, medication scheduling, and transportation to doctor's appointments. Activities of daily living, provided for both patients included bathing and grooming, dressing, ambulating, feeding, and toileting. This couple also had two dogs which I cared for with daily walks, feedings, and weekly grooming. This case was live-in so during our leisure time we went to restaurants, museums, grocery stores, the mall and coffee shops.
Dec 2019 - Mar 2021

Senior Male: Stroke

Jul 2018 - Nov 2019
Home Care
Patient in his 90s, was paralyzed completely on the left side. Assistance was needed for activities of daily living including bathing and grooming, dressing, ambulating, feeding, and toileting. Other areas I was able to lend a hand was meal preparation, scheduling medications, and administering insulin. This patient used a wheelchair to get around so moderate assistance was needed while taking his daily walks in the parks.
Jul 2018 - Nov 2019

Senior Female: Severe Dementia

Jan 2017 - Jul 2018
Home Care
I performed activities of daily living including; bathing and grooming, dressing, ambulating, feeding, and toileting. I also supplemented her care with assisting in transportation, managing communication with loved ones, scheduling her medications, and doing light housekeeping.

Senior Female: Aging Patient

Aug 2016 - Jan 2017
Home Care
This case was my first patient who initially needed companionship, but lateral began to deteriorate from older age. Assistance was needed for activities of daily living including bathing and grooming, dressing, ambulating, feeding, and toileting. Other areas I was able to lend a hand was meal preparation and scheduling medications. This patient was fond of audio books so her making sure her equipment for listening was working appropriately was paramount.

I love being a caregiver. I've always been in the caregiving business since I was 18. Singing, laughing, hugging, loving, and making people smile is what I do best. I'm very patient, kind and make my residents feel like they are the only ones I'm taking care of. Understanding and being able to relate with seniors who have Alzheimer's is a big task and I love what I do. Let me help take care of your loved one today!
