Working with mental handicap individuals right out of high school helped me see I was making a difference in their lives and I saw I was giving them the type of care they were lacking from others. I do not look at home care as just a job, but a relationship between individuals who you can build a bond with. I have not done home care in a long time and miss the interpersonal relationships I am able to have as a care giver. I am a 1st generation college graduate which is an achievement I am very proud of and has allowed me to take on a different occupation and be successful, but I miss my home care routes and want to do what I can to help others so I am looking at giving additional time for individuals in need.
