As a child my mother took care of elderly couples and while accompanying my mother to their homes to help take care of them, I did small tasks to help my mom have an easier day and while doing those tasks and being close to the elderly couples we created special bonds and family like feelings for each-other and it became a truly special situation to all of kids when going with our mother to help her.
