Hello! I am 27 years old and currently available anytime. My goal is to go back to school and get my bachelors degree in human services. I became a home health aide when I was 21. I never expected to be but the position kind of fell into my lap. I learned so much not only basic skills we would need for the job but I learned caring for an individual isn't a job. It's a passion. At first I looked at it as going to do my job and earn some income, a few weeks in it became clear this was a much more rewarding job than I ever intended. The woman I cared for became one of my best friends. I looked at our time together as not only good for her but also good for me. I would get excited to go see her. Eventually we became so close of go over there without pay. we would decorate for Christmas and other holidays together. I'd drop in to bring her favorite treats like a frosty or a Colatta from Dunkin Donuts. companion care is the most important part of being a home health aide in my opinion. I look forward to hopefully having the same experience and the same bond with someone else!
