I worked with developmentally disabled individuals for 23 years before going back to school to finish a teaching degree. I am looking at retirement from teaching, this July, and would like to return to caring for people again involving home care situations. I am also looking for available opportunities that I can fulfill at this time. I feel my personal achievement is that in my 40's I went back to school and continued caring for people at a different level, such as student needs. I presently teach first grade. My experience in both employment situations had rewards that only one can experience by participating in both environments. Educationally, physically and emotionally I was able to create environments that allowed needs to be met in comfortable atmospheres, while enjoying those I worked with. Also cared for a woman with Alzheimer's disease upon request of the family. I simply enjoy working with all people.
