I have been a personal care provider for over 20 years. I started working in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and hospitals. I prefer being a personal care provider because I enjoy the direct attention I can provide for my client. I became a care giver because I enjoy taking care of people, and learning from them. In my experiences from working as a caregiver I found that everyone is different, and they have a lot to offer whether they are 100 years old or 2 years old. I also believe that everyone one should be treated with dignity, respect, and compasion. I treat everyone as though they are my family member. My first experiece ad a caregiver was when I was 15 and my mother took me along with her to care for a neighbor one lady was blind, and her sister was Paralyzed from the neck down , My mother showed me how to care for others as though I was related to them. I do everything from bathing, grooming, cooking, cleaning, and laundry, exercise if needed, as well as going on outings. I also walk and feed pets. I also have references from various peopleI have cared for. I can also assist with medication from setting up medications for the week and also giving them at their specified times.
