My expertise that helps me be a great caregiver is I'm very understanding and patient compassionate. What attracted me to being a caregiver is I took care of my grandmother since I was 16 until she passed and we spent a lot of time together and I realize I was companionship for her and I just made her day we used to go shopping and eat breakfast together go to the laundromat together and just sit and talk for hours and drink coffee, about a few years after taking care of her she got diagnosed with dementia and I started to be her respite care provider for my mom and we got to spend lots of time together and I took her doctor's appointments gave her her medicine. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is that I'm able to make someone's day and able to assist them with their daily living, give their family that reassurance that they're in good hands and that I will take care of them as they are my own. My Personal Achievement that I'm proud of is that I'm the face they see as a caregiver to take care of them and they trust me.

This person was in a wheel chair for a long number of years, this person gave up long ago. I came in and got to help this person and care for them helped with motaviating this person to start exercising and then we started taking small steps, thru out my years of caregiving with this person. I was able to help get this person out of the chair and to start walking again. It made me feel so good to see smiles from my client and the family because of how I dedicated myself to her, I was able to give hope and was able to see my client do somethings on their own. It is definitely a highlight to caregiving.
