Because i enjoyed helping and caring for others ,who have trouble helping themselves. IF all went well you achieved a goal and you were satisfied and felt good and you made some difference . there have been so many , but one lady was very tired out and need help with her husband that had dementia,i would come over and help her so she could nap in the day ,she need it so. I have three great adult children and iam a beautician.. recently I recently I finished a job with a client that had dementia her husband cared for her for years prior to her demise I did two years of care with her she lived in bed most of the time I did personal care she was such a pleasure. I have three years of Care on a alzheimer's unit when I worked in Orange Park Florida we was strictly for Alzheimer patients in the house was quite a challenge worked 12 hours hour days I have worked in healthcare for 30-some years starting in the early 80s and now and Home Care quite a variety of care in the hospital under acute care and in the homes with acute care patients coming out of the hospital I'm familiar withdifferent medications and their reactions I'm up to date on my CPR and all of my continuing education I also carry Insurance on myself through the state liability in and out of a home
