I'm a 52 year old male, with 5+yrs as an STNA. I've taken care of male, and female clients who all usually asked for me specifically. So i do respectfully apply for jobs that may prefer females. Only because i've VERY successfully cared for both M/F. This type of work is very specific, and requires dilligence 100% of the time. I enjoy this work for many reasons, but the biggest is to provide comfort, safety, and make my clients, your loved ones feel like they have my trust, and i'll earn theirs.That happens out of the utmost respect, kindness, patience, and highest level of care. Sometimes clients, residents just want to talk to you if you have positive energy, they detect that from caregivers. I'm not gonna write 1,000 words to describe how much i love this field of work. It's work that some can do, some can't, i'm outgoing, funny, happy and very approchable, and sociall. I have a 26yr old daughter, and a 19yr old son those are pretty much my friends, my life, my greatest blessing, achievements. Due to the fact they're really great people. I also take care of my mother who,s gonna be 80 in april, she has a benigne ping pong size brain tumor that has her 80% blind. My fathers 75 and has major arthritis but i kept them in their home, it's a sacrafice that i do happily. My kids do come to care for my parents when i'm working.
