I became a caregiver because I was raised into grandparents home growing up. My grandmother had dementia as far back that I can remember! I cared for her and helped with her daily task, also my mother has MS, and I've been taking care of her for many years. I have felt it was impossible to find someone to trust taking care of her, then we were blessed with the caregiver we have now! So I wanted to help and give others the care I understand our family's need! So I chose to become a caregiver myself. I love what I do for a living. I work with my heart on my shoulder I've been told! And seeing the improvements some have, makes me feel I'm helping them live as independently as they can! I've worked with MRDD, young and adult! Dementia and skilled nursing!
