I became a caregiver after I spent time being one for my own grandmother. She had Alzheimer's, diabetes, cataracts, and could not walk or see. My grandfather dedicated his life to taking care of her and when he no longer could the whole family pitched in. I love being a caregiver because it makes me feel good helping others and reminds me of my grandmother. I spent a lot of my time with nurses and I feel understanding medical conditions better helps me provide care as a caregiver.
