I love helping others. I am a very caring person and can fit in any environment and help wherever needed. I like to help make things easier for others and try to brighten the day if I can. One of my clients who was almost 100 yrs loved strawberries and maple bars; so I stopped every morning on my way to my shift with Evelin and got her fresh strawberries and a maple bar. I put them out for her at breakfast. She loved them and it made her so happy. I would play dominoes with her and take her for walks in her wheelchair. She loved it. None of the other caregivers did these things. I did, because I like to go the extra mile to make her feel special. I had a stroke client who was wheelchair bound. I loved her. I gave her showers. After I would dry and curl her hair. I put her make up on. Then rub her legs with lotion. The other caregivers did not take the time. But I knew she loved it. I also love working with the Alzheimer's patients. I lost my son to cancer 10 years ago. He was in hospice so I have a very special place in my heart for my hospice clients. It just always makes me feel so good taking care of the elderly. As a child I loved spending time with my grandparents. I think by caregiving it is like spending time with my grandparents.
