During these crazy Covid-19 times I believe that it is important to take steps to not only give our seniors care for daily living but also provide protection, mental stimulation, comfort, and hope. I also believe that our senior population should be cherished, respected and quite frankly we can learn from each one in their own way. I am currently looking for a fill-in job while unable to work due to state mandates in my usual location. Admittedly my background on paper does not look like much as far as caregiving goes. However, I do have experience working in a care facility, hospice and I cared for my father-in-law for the last 6 years of his life after suffering a catastrophic stroke. Last week I completed my masters in nursing and hope to sit for the national boards just as soon as the testing sites re-open. My focus is on adult geriatric medicine and will ultimately obtain my Adult Geriatric primary care nurse practitioner license in Oregon.
