I'm a very caring and energetic woman of God. I have always loved helping others while also advancing my knowledge in the health field. I followed in my mother's footsteps as she became a CNA, AED, and now an ED. As a caregiver for 9 years, I've come to enjoy helping my clients live their best lives while encouraging as much independent care as possible to eliminate doubts of self worth. I'm proud of all of the knowledge I have gained in the health field. I have learned about many diseases, disorders, and medications through my jobs and schooling. I'm proud of myself for saving a man's life through performing CPR on him for 10 minutes before the ambulance arrived. But most importantly, I've always been told by clients, friends, family, and even strangers, that they can't help but be happy, smile, and laugh around me. That brings me so much joy and pushes me to better myself in life. My career has been so rewarding and I can't wait to continue to help more people in need!

Serving older adults is my passion and my vocation. I consider myself a life-enrichment care partner and truly feel I am in a place of honor when spending time with those I serve. In the past 12 years, I have served older adults in various settings: those living with a variety of health conditions and physical/cognitive abilities . I listen well and nurture trusting relationships based on respect and dignity. Through my work experience as a Program Coordinator, Social Services, a Community Companion, Director of Activities, and in my Gerontology studies, I have become more sensitive to the challenges facing a diverse population of older adults and am keenly aware of the damaging effects of isolation. I am committed to serve each individual and partner with them to experience joy and success in their daily life. I practice person-centered approach to address the mental, social, spiritual, and physical well-being of every individual. I am compassionate, flexible, creative, have a strong moral and work ethic, a warm and cheerful personality, and a great sense of humor. I have earned the Basic Activity Director Certificate, an Introduction to Guardianship Certificate, as well as completed Hospice Basic Training I & II. I am certified in American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED and I have an Oregon Food Handlers certificate. I can help with domestic duties including light cleaning, laundry, meal planning/prep, assist with appointment scheduling, transportation, shopping, and running errands. I can assist with bathing, offer companionship throughout the day, can engage individuals in meaningful conversations and activities based on their interests whether in-home or out in the community. I am willing to assist with specialty projects, home organizing, light gardening, and event planning. I am experienced in patiently instructing older adults how to use technology.
