I became a caregiver to meet and help others. I was running a business where I worked alone and a friend suggested I try Caregiving as a way to feel connected to my community. It worked and I love it. What I like about being a Caregiver is the sense of community and the good feelings I get knowing I am helping others who need companionship and care. I am proud of the fact that I started a business in the early eighties and ran it for thirty years and supported myself. I enjoy being in charge of my working self. I am a person with many interests. I have studied art and military history for all my life and have, as I mentioned earlier, run a business. I am an artist and do painting and I have done a bit of publishing in the past. When I meet a new Caregiving client I love to hear about their lives. I have learned so much from the folks I have met through Caregiving and that is one of the attractions for me personally with Caregiving.
