To whom this may concern; I am a devoted, gregarious, and time conscious CNA looking for any positions in the Yonkers/Mount Vernon/Upper Bronx area. I am currently enrolled at Pace University in the nursing program. I am available to work part-time and per diem. I am available any time on Fridays and weekends. I have previously worked at a nursing home for a year at Salem Hills Long Term Rehabilitation Center. I love taking care of people in need. In my past experiences with working with the elderly, I have picked up a number of traits to help me care for a number of patients within my shift. Some of those include time management, empathy, patience, a greater sense of judgement, quicker thinking and planning. I work hard to give my patients the exceptional care that each individual needs in order to help them throughout their day. I not only assist my patients with their activities of daily living, but I also love meeting the emotional needs of my patients as much as time permits. I realize that patients don't always need someone to assist them with bathing and feeding, but they also need someone to talk to. They need someone who can treat them with respect and give them back a sense of dignity that might have been lost while staying in a healthcare facility. I make sure I become not only a caregiver, but also a friend to as many of my patients as possible in hopes to brighten their day no matter how small my deeds are. I became a caregiver at a very young age assisting & volunteering at first with my church youth group, in nursing homes & that's when I became very fond of them and I enjoyed being with them and seeing them happy. The things I like most about being a caregiver is helping and bringing someone joy. I am mostly proud that I always keep a close bond with anyone I work with.
