I have 18+ years experience as a LNA/ CNA/MA/Housekeeper. I am CPR/BLS and First Aid certified. I have worked in Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Homecare and Hospice. A majority of my clients have been diagnosed with Dementia. I have alot of extended learning learning hours with Alzheimer's. I absolutely love working with seniors. I can't imagine doing anything else in this life. I have been out on my own for, five years now, I love the one on one contact of homecare. Integrity is the word I use to describe myself. I always do the right thing, even when no one is looking. Because I am honest and dependable, the work continues to flow. I usually work within the same family for a very long time. My name is Shayna Hawkins. I am a 3 year sports medicine student, I am going to start my CNA classes in august, and I also rodeo queen. I am great at problem solving, I am very understanding, and also very patient as well. My family is full of EMT's, nurses, and clinical workers. I have always loved helping people out and learning about the human anatomy. I enjoy making bonds/friendships. I became a caregiver as a stepping stone to becoming a nurse. I thought that it would provide me some insight into whether or not I would enjoy nursing, and now I love my job. I have strong knowledge with diabetes education/prevention/treatment, wound care, COPD, etc... I am CPR certified and IV certified.
