I became a care giver because I grew up with my great grandmother who lived to be 104 years as well as my grandmother in Ghana. So naturally I developed and affection for older people. When I came to the US I saw the need for health aids so I have been practicing that for 14 years. I recently (August 2014) got certified as a CNA . I get satisfaction when I am able to make another person content and this is what I enjoy about my job. My greatest achievement would be when I took care of a bed bound patient at home for over a year with no help and she died without any bedsores. I completed my C.N.A. with Allied School Jamaica NY. and did my internship at the Veterans Hospital in Saint Albans Queens NY. I believe with my 14 years experience as health aid together with the new skills I have acquired, I have the strengths and qualities which include proper time management, positive work ethics, good communication skills patience, and effective coordination of tasks that will enable me to make a significant contribution to your establishment.
