Friendly, enthusiastic, trustworthy and most importantly compassionate individual with multiple years experience in caring for elderly/mentally ill clients. I am able to learn new tasks quickly and efficiently. I am proficient in growing key client relationships and am able to represent the caretaking community with integrity, courtesy, and professional demeanor at all all times. I am a mom to a beautiful 4 year old little girl - NUMBER ONE care taking role any person or parent would be proud of. I am a caretaker by nature and go out of my way daily to help any and all people I come in contact with. I too come from a family of veterans who also are so very thankful for the services received through the VA. What I love most about being a caretaker is how rewarding the job is. Going out of my way to enhance someone else's life or make their day a little easier and happier then it would've been otherwise makes me happy and makes me feel accomplished and feel like a better person all around. I am also a reiki practitioner and follow 5 key principles in my life both inside and outside of work on a daily basis: - Just for today I will not worry - Just for today I will not be angry - Just for today I will do my work honestly - Just for today I will have gratitude - Just for today I will be kind to every living thing One of my favorite memories of being a home health aid/direct support professional is going on vacation with one of my clients who was 68 at the time. We got to spend a whole week together marking off some of her bucket list which included riding her first roller coaster! What a rewarding experience that was! I love taking care of people, I always have. Even as a young child I loved to sit next to older ones and hear their stories. My parents always inculcated in me a deep respect for others and the value of hard work and honesty. I have always valued these qualities and have seen the positive effect of cultivating them. For these reasons I find caregiving truly rewarding as I am able to help others and show them the respect every individual deserves.
