About Tonya

My passion is to help others and to give them the opportunity to live fuller lives. My husband is disabled so instead of this being a job to me it's my life. I'm prepared to do whatever needs to be done to make your love one feel comfortable. I became a caregiver because Iv always enjoyed helping others around me. So by becoming a caregiver I get enjoyment out of helping others and their families to lead fuller lives. Being a caregiver makes my heart full knowing that I'm making a difference in their lives. Seeing my patients smiling and enjoying life makes it all worth it. I take great pride in my work and love when I'm told by the family how much they appreciate what I do for their loved ones.

    I worked one on one with a patient that had Reye's syndrome along with several other issues. I did everything for her as she need complete assistance and was none verbal. I was medication trained so I was able to dispense medications. I have both bed baths and fully baths and dressed the client. The client also wore briefs and would change my client when needed and helped to feed her with her special diet. I did all hygiene for her along with doing community outings and going to doctor appointments. The client had to do range of motions with her.

    I cared for a elderly guy who had ms, diabetes, and dementia. In the mornings I would empty his catheter bag then check his sugar before making his breakfast. I made sure he took his meds then helped him to shower and get dressed. I would remind him to do his daily hygiene. I made his lunch and checked his catheter bag before leaving. I even took him to his doctor where his wife would meet us.
