I remember as a child when I had my first caregiver after my surgery; she was warm, caring, always listened and took her time to care for me. She helped me through my recovery period. The feeling I had after she helped me recover, made me decide to take up the challenge to influence the lives of others; through caregiving. Personally I believe that I have what it takes to be a great caregiver, because I am caring, loving, hardworking, resilient, efficient, social, tolerant and a good listener. Being a caregiver is not just a job to me, but like my mentoring job at school it is an opportunity that allows me to assist anyone in need. The best part of caregiving is that it is a way to give back and contribute to the society. One of my achievements that I am most proud of was becoming an academic mentor at my University. By mentoring, I have been able to share my knowledge, influence students positively. This has made a great difference because my students have excelled both academically and socially. I am on track to becoming a medical doctor. This way I would be able to provide health care and continue caring for people in need. If I am granted the opportunity I promise to do my very best.
