I just finished 4 months of an internship in a nursing home and in a hospital (orthopedic floor) for occupational therapy. I am currently studying for my boards to become licensed. I excel in ADLS and strive to get patients as independent and closest to their prior level of function as possible. I have experience with dementia patients and orthopedics primarily but have some experience with strokes. I am very personable, compassionate and feel accomplished and rewarded when I am able to get patients feeling their best self again. I enjoy talking to people and can get along with anyone, I bring a lot of smiles to faces and can be good company for someone. I understand that some people are introverts and would rather keep to themselves instead of chatting a lot and I respect that and can be there for someone to talk with if needed or just have someone to be around. I am CPR and first aid certified. I have transportation and can run errands if needed. I am most proud of my accomplishment dancing for 46 hours straight without sitting or sleeping to raise awareness and money for children and families diagnosed with pediatric cancer.
