I chose to become a caregiver 13 years ago. I chose this line of work after helping take care of my grandfather. There is honestly no profession that is more rewarding than being a caregiver. To make a difference in someone's life, even for just a few hours isa great feeling. Seeing clients/residents smile when you enter the room is a rewarding. I enjoy listening to the stories about their life. I have worked the mentally challenged, dementia patients, and stroke patients. Having patience, and being a good listener, are the best qualities of a good caregiver.
