Due to family circumstance I became a caregiver for my mother. It was clear to me from the start that taking care of someone close to you is a big responsiblity and needs to be done with the upmost dignity and respect while assiting them in meeting the medical needs. Being a caregiver is rewarding in that the relationships you build with the patient and their families becomes so important and utlimately providing care for someone that is sick or incapable of meeting their needs independently is, for me, very rewarding.
