About Myke Robert

I became a Caregiver because I want to be there for someone who needs help. I think of my residents or clients as my own family (my Grandmother or Grandfather or Parents). What I like about it is, it is a personal interaction with the clients. I get the opportunity to take care of them on their families' behalf and also get to know them as a person. I am being given a chance to show my compassion and treat a client with utmost respect and dignity as a human being and not just another paycheck. My personal achievement I am proud of, is when I worked at my last employer, I have families' asking for me to take care of their parents and they would leave notes for me in my mailbox saying how great I am and how they loved when they saw how I interact with their parents. A little info about me, I am an aspiring nursing student and have been working as a Caregiver for 8 years. Working with seniors as a CNA with Alzheimer's' and Dementia. I have recently moved to Florida from Michigan, and currently I do not have my CNA license for this state. I am pursuing on getting it for the State of Florida as I am planning to stay here permanently until I get to my Nursing. I am Filipino and Flipinos are known for their compassion and respect for the elderly. I love my clients and as I have mentioned, I make it personal and treat them as my own. My AHCA Level 2 Background Check has been done, that is why I did not do mine on CareLinx. I also am awaiting for my State Exam Licensure for CNA.

Assistance with ADLs, I was responsible for supervising the shift including managing the caregivers and assigning a list of residents for them. I was responsible for charting important documents and reporting any changes of residents to the nurse. I was responsible with communicating to family members regarding the resident’s condition. I was responsible for dispensing the medications on time to residents, from pain medications to Insulin administration and blood sugar monitoring. I was responsible for coaching caregivers with how to deal with behaviors of resident’s with Dementia and Alzheimer’s. I was also responsible with Vital Signs, distribution of resident’s supplies. Finally I was responsible to make sure all the residents in memory care unit are safe and if ever an emergency happens, proper protocol is followed. From reporting to nurse, reporting to physician and resident’s POA and to sending them out to the hospital.
