I believe my most useful qualities in this role are patience and kindness. I had one woman who would always buzz me to help to her, but because she was experiencing memory loss and dementia, when I arrived to her she would have forgotten she just buzzed me for the same thing. I always showed her kindness and patience as I would want someone to show my mother. My mother is the reason I began my career in health and home care. I have been taking care of my mom since I was a little girl and I like to say she unknowingly prepared me for a career of greatness.
