Hi, my name is Leah. My passion as a caregiver started at a very young age, 15. I had a neighbor who was disabled and helping her with daily activities grew on me. I enjoy helping my elders and the disabled in anyway possible. I'm experienced nurse assisting duties such as, therapy with hip surgeries, medication dispersement, the use of diabetic instruments, oxygen machines, Iv machines, and wound care. My greatest skills in health care are making the resident/ patient feel comfortable caring for them. Trust, and caring, and sometimes you have to take period listen to each individual. What attracted me to becoming a caregiver was my grandmother. My family is very close and when my grandmother the glue to our family were Diagnosed with ALZHEIMER'S we all worked together. It when from one thing to another. After her transition I decided to work in health care. I enjoy caring for people. Whatever I can find my hands to do, I do it. With dignity love and respect. While working with ARc of Baldwin County, the Viola House was about to be close down by state because of poor keeping. With the help of good teamwork / people that needed to work and much pray the house became a home to eight mental challenge people within three months. I love what I do.

My name is Deanna Richardson, and although I am only 20, I would like to consider myself as an experienced caregiver (although I know that there is much more to learn). I also consider myself as very hard working, reliable, trustworthy, and compassionate. Before getting my CNA certification in October of 2016, I cared for several family members in high school that had mental disorders, a stroke, and dementia. After receiving my CNA certification I went straight to work. I have worked home health, in a hospital, and hospice care. I am very passionate about caring for others; I truly believe that it is my "calling." I do not see being a CNA as a job, but as an opportunity to be there for someone during their time of need. As a CNA, I know that it is the little things that count. I enjoy being able to make my patients feel better whether it is from helping them get a bath or just being their for them through companionship.
