My entire life, people have been drawn to my light, loving energy, compassion and sense of humor. Most often I have heard that my presence speaks volumes, I'm a ray of sunshine and an earth angel. I feel our elders are a treasure and should receive the help and support they deserve. After decades working in a corporate setting I decided to leave and pursue a more heart-centered career. I had been drawn for years to the idea of working with elders and those in hospice and once I started training I knew I had found my life purpose. Regardless of age, I enjoy being a caregiver! I love knowing that I make a difference in peoples lives through my work, volunteering and my 'being of service' way of being. I have been doing in home senior care for 2+ years. With a local company. I care for my Mother on all post-op situations. I also give her support care weekly. I have just completed the AR CNA course testing out at: 100%+5 written, and 99% clinical. I will test with the state soon. I have been passionate about healthcare since I started as a Patient Care Assistant in 11th grade, way back in 1997. I worked in a busy post-surgical ward in a hospital setting for 17 years and have since found home healthcare incredibly rewarding. I been a CNA for 5 years I have worked in a bunch skilled and none skilled nursing homes. Well I love to help people and my grandma was in and out of nursing homes. So I got to go and I wanted to make a difference in there life's. I enjoy putting a smile on there face just because they in a nursing home don't mean they can't live a little and have fun . I became a caregiver to my sister in Los Angeles, CA, who had cancer in 2015. After she passed away, I knew that this was my calling. I was told by the staff at Cedar Saini that they appreciated my help while I was there looking after my sister. The staff acknowledged my patience and compassion towards other patients also. I earned my CNA and worked in a nursing home as well as providing in home care for others who were like my sister. My life changed, as I knew there was no better way for me to contribute to others by helping them daily. I enjoyed their company and looked forward to making a difference!

When I was 16 years old, my grandfather who was bedridden after many strokes, and also diagnosed with Alzheimer's and dementia moved into our home, and me and my mother took care of him until his last days. When he passed I realized I wanted to go into healthcare to make a difference in other people's lives the way he did for me.
