I have 18+ years experience as a LNA/ CNA/MA/Housekeeper. I am CPR/BLS and First Aid certified. I have worked in Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Homecare and Hospice. A majority of my clients have been diagnosed with Dementia. I have alot of extended learning learning hours with Alzheimer's. I absolutely love working with seniors. I can't imagine doing anything else in this life. I have been out on my own for, five years now, I love the one on one contact of homecare. Integrity is the word I use to describe myself. I always do the right thing, even when no one is looking. Because I am honest and dependable, the work continues to flow. I usually work within the same family for a very long time. I can administer medications and insulin, take vitals, personal care, housekeeping, transportation, cooking, pet care, hospice, really anything you need I can help. I've been in the caregiving field for 17 years. I started out volunteering in a nursing home and then went from that to live in Care. I have worked extensively in in-home care and at small group homes and big facilities as well. I've worked with a wide variety of clients and conditions. What makes me a Great Care giver, is my huge heart and personal ability to empathize and be compassionate w my clients. I know nobody wishes to be sick or ailing, so I always try to bring a little sunshine into they're lives, and let them feel a sense of unity and belonging. I try to leave my clients in a better state of mind, than before I got there. I became care giver; because in a pretty dark part of my past, someone very close to me ended up being stabbed 8x. And I was so scared, that I didn't even know what to begin to do. So it was then,that i decided to get into the healthcare field, educate myself, so that I would never find myself in a situation like that again. I love so much about working as a care giver, where should I start?... First off, the fulfillment of actually being able to help someone, hands-on, is very self-gratifying for me. Also knowing that I may make someone's life a little less stressful or painful, just by being able bodied enough to assist them in day to day needs, means a lot for me. But being able to touch someone's life, by sharing a piece of my love, kindness, and understanding w a individual or family, as well as imprinting a piece of myself within them, is probably the BEST reward out of it all. I believe God will place us into certain people's life's at just the right time. When it is most needed. That we may embark on a journey of strength and hopefully healing together. I am a very passionate person, I love being a part of helping families with their loved ones.I am a patient and kind caregiver,I have learned a lot of patience from the people that I have cared for.I decided I wanted to go into nursing at 12 years old when my mother was helping care for an elderly friend. I saw how happy my mother was when she was a help to this family and how much they appreciated her care. I enjoy learning about the people I care for, I have learned alot of life lessons from them many have had really interesting stories that just blow my mind. I received my CNA license at the age of 19 and then got my Caregiver's license shortly after a big achievement for me.I spent most of my years in nursing career in nursing homes.(long term care facilities) I did spend some of my time working with children with disabilities, which was an AMAZING time for me. I worked in a few care homes, which gave me the opportunity to be one on one with the residents living.I am a enthusiactic person, I enjoy learning new things to enable me to care for people better.I just love being in the nursing community.
