I enjoy reading, writing, board and card games, movies, cleaning, cooking. When my fraternal grandmother entered a care home when I was 12, I went to visit her every day. I was shocked to see how many elderly patients had no one who visited them. So I unofficially became a volunteer and would visit other residents; reading to them, talking, playing games, dancing, whatever brought a little joy back into their lives. Caregiving has been a part of my life ever since. I took care of my maternal grandmother who had severe rheumatoid arthritis and Dementia in her home until she passed away. I then moved my mother in with me when she was first diagnosed with Alzheimers and cared for her until her death 10 years later. I also cared for one of my brothers who was diagnosed with end stage Dementia at the age of 58 and passed away right before his 61st birthday. So I completely understand what loved ones must go through as family members become older, sick, or suffer from an injury. What I enjoy most about being a Caregiver is simply helping someone who needs it, especially if it allows them to remain in their own home. A personal achievement that I am proud of is raising such loving, kind, respectful, and amazing children.

She was always running up and down the stairs getting things done around the house. We always had heart healthy meals prepared/made. Shes very attentive and caring, and always goes out of her way to do extra for us. We always tell her shes the best. She has an open attitude.
