I've been a caregiver for 35 yrs. I started in this field when I was just 17. I love what I do. I come from a medical family and decided at a very young age that I wanted to be a doctor or nurse. I specialize in geriatric dementia and Alzheimers care. Every client needs to know they're truly cared for on every level with love, patience, and kindness. I enjoy learning from them ... they often have amazing histories, stories and lessons to share.I'm often with my clients for the duration of their lives.

I enjoy providing companionship and outmost care to every person I am with. I have also a great deal of medical experience. I am proficient in basic skills: personal hygiene like showers/bath, oral care, toileting, back-rub, dressing; Assists in activities of daily living such as serving & feeding, ambulating, positioning, transferring, administer meds & nutritional supplements, dressings surgical prep; Do & record vital sign: blood pressure, weight, pulse, temperature, finger pricking for sugar levels in diabetics; Measure & record food & liquid intake, urinary & fecal output and report changes. Encourage patient to exercise. Review & ask dietary restrictions, preferences, & allergies. Change bed linens, replace trash bags. Always check expiration of food & medicines. Know vital information about patient's condition, treatment plan & any suggested activity.. In a capsule, it is very important to respond immediately to patient's call for assistance and/or treatment with the goal of creating a safe, effective environment to make a difference in the lives of the patient & their families. Patience is a virtue inherent in me. I always work above & beyond my duty for the comfort & safety of my patients. I would be very glad to be of service as I have an extensive experience in the medical field.

The reason for becoming a caregiver is that I wanted more 1 to 1 interactions with patients being that working at the hospital patients come and go and it's extremely difficult to build relationships. I have since taken care of a patient (hired privately) for 3 years and she has now passed. I am looking to care for someone wholeheartedly & willing to build relationships with the family as well in order to achieve the best quality of life to those in need.

Hello, Although I have a degree/career in the operating room assisting surgeons with surgeries..........I have found my passion in making a tremendous difference in the quality & care of one's life by caregiving and nursing career. My grandparents played a tremendous role in my life (whom I also cared for at the end of their long lives) and I have always been very comfortable & fond of elderly, and geriatric people. I have found it to be an absolute joyful and rewarding experience to be a caregiver & nurse. We are called to take good care of the Widowed & Orphaned. My passion and love for them are evident. I am healthy, strong, vaccinated, devoted, honest, compassionate, dependable, caring, and extremely patient. Very detail oriented and trustworthy. I enjoy caring for someone as well as doing activities together. I enjoy connecting and listening to amazing stories of loved ones and past history. It is very important for me to stay engaged with the individual and showing them that they matter. It is very crucial to care for someone by treating them with the utmost dignity and respect. if possible, it is important to keep the person socially connected and take out in the community. I come from a family of healthcare workers from CNAs to Doctors. When I was younger, I volunteered at the local shelter. People had a lot of issues, and I'd help them with almost anything they'd need. I've been hooked on helping people since. It's extremely rewarding to help someone.

I love what I do and caregiving is very rewarding. I have worked in a long term care facility with a focus on mental impairment. I've worked with various stages of Alzheimer's and dementia. I've worked with young adults with mental impairment. I've worked one on one in clients homes .I love the work that I do and am patient, kind, understanding, knowledgeable, strong, and compassionate. I like to be knowledgeable about my patients and their conditions. I like to take care of people like they were my own family. I decided I wanted to become a Nurse/caregiver when I was 13. My younger sister was born with Down syndrome, and was diagnosed with multiple hearth problems . The Nurses that worked with her made me want to be them because of the compassion and care they showed her and our family in the roughest of times.
