Hi my name is Debra and I have been a caregiver for 9 years. And the reason why I continue this career is I love helping people and to see their condition improve. Especially working with the Geriatric. I love to hear their life stories. And I care about these patients. Also, their families know they can trust me with a family member. My personal achievement: I am most proud of is when my assignment is completed we are sad to part and I know have done a good job and to also, receive a great letter of recommendation. Infact I have a couple of letters from past clients. My personalijty traits: I am easy going and I prefer to cater to my client and to make sure they have all that they need while I am on duty with them. And to make sure that their family does not have to worry about anything while they are in my care. Or shift.

I have been a certified Medical Assistant for over eight years. Therefor my scope is wider then a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). I have many years of work experience working with Geriatric population. My certification and BLS CPR are current. I am available for evening care and weekends.

I enjoy what I do and love to see people happy ! Helping someone that was injured and helping them to recover is a great feeling! Taking care of people that are ill and helping them to feel better is a great feeling!

Assists with personal care, which may include bathroom functions, bathing, grooming, dressing, and eating. Follow a prescribed healthcare plan, which may include assisting with exercise and administering medication. Ensure the client's home is organized according to their needs and that safety measures are in place. You may also be expected to assist with some light housework, Provide emotional support and encouragement to perform necessary tasks. Provide mobility assistance may be required, for example helping the client in and out of bed, a chair, or a wheelchair. Monitor and report changes in health, behavior, and needs.

I've served clients with trach/vent, suction & feeding tubes, colostomy bag, cardiac & foley cath, AFOs, wound vac, and IV's. As an intensive care nurse, dialysis & behavioral health technician, and certified nutritional educator, I've experienced working with an array of clients with various diseases and disorders including; arthritis, alzheimer's, cardiovascular, cancer, COPD, dementia, depression hospice, HIV/AIDS, gastrointestinal, hospice, neurological, seizures orthopedic, palliative, rehab, parkinson's, wound care, and post surgery recovery.

My personal achievement in my caregiving life is that I had a couple with dementia for seven years. I never once left them in the lurch. I always follow through with my word. I am a great listener and interested in elders lives if they like to share. I take suggestions well and tend to read people pretty well and adjust to them and their needs. I believe that I'm a compassionate person and above all trustworthy and reliable.
